BellaMar and Covid 19

Here at BellaMar we are very aware of the current health crisis. We have set up the following protocols to help keep everyone safe:

  • Hand washing is to occur upon arrival at the barn.
  • There is to be no sharing of tack between horses and riders.
  • Horses in the main barn are to be tacked up in their stalls.
  • Outside horses are the only ones allowed in cross-ties.
  • Masks are to be worn when in the tack room, and limited number of people inside the tack room at a time.
  • Masks are to be worn if close contact needs to occur when handling a horse.
  • Social distancing is a priority.
  • Gatherings are to be avoided when possible.
  • Anyone experiencing Covid symptoms as defined by CDC, fever, cough, loss of taste or smell, etc. must remain at home until symptoms abate and/or obtain a negative test.
  • Anyone who comes in contact with an infected person, either directly, or by a member of their household, will be required to refrain from all barn access for a two-week period where no symptoms develop and obtain a negative test.

We are extremely lucky that our sport is one that occurs outside, and that our barn is not enclosed providing for ample ventilation. Outdoor exercise is one of the lower risk activities as stated by the CDC, and as long as we continue to be mindful of social distancing and mask protocols, we hope to keep the barn a safe place.

As such, we are currently keeping the program at BellaMar fairly small, limiting lessons to boarders and lessors. There are a very limited amount of spots for once a week lessons for riding school students, but this is decided on a case by case basis. We hope to open back up the riding school in the fall, and have plans in place to do so, but that will depend on the situation at the time.
